APA Guide to Electronic References
What is APA?
APA (or American Psychological Association) style is used predominantly in the fields of Education, Management, and Social Sciences for formatting papers and citing sources. This guide gives citation examples for many different types of sources, as well as providing links to other guides and information about using APA.
We provide information on:
- Using in-text citations
- Citing books, book chapters, or e-books
- Citing journal or e-journal articles
- Citing web resources
- Citing audio-visual materials, such as television broadcasts, DVDs, illustrations, or audio recordings
- Citing curriculum documents and Alberta Programs of Study
- And some tough stuff, not covered by the other categories, including Business-specific databases, Government reports, and case studies
If you have an APA question not covered by the guide, feel free to chat with a librarian or send us an email with your question.
