Covidence

Instructions for loading full text articles into Covidence

Adding the full text to Covidence is a time consuming process. There is no way to fully automate the process even with the bulk load (instructions in box below). Expect to spend approx 5 minutes per article you will be retrieving.

To add full text one article at a time to Covidence in the Full text Review Screen:

  • Click on "View Abstract and IDs" to check if a doi link is available. Click on doi link if available. If doi link not available, search the title of the article in the "FIND ARTICLES" section of the library website or through Google Scholar
  • If you hit a journal paywall, using the UABookmarklet can help you avoid paying. Instructions for use at: https://library.ualberta.ca/services/off-campus-access (Scroll down to UAL Bookmarklet heading on webpage)
  • If Bookmarklet doesn't work, find article by going through the ejournals search of the library website.
  • Once you find pdf, you downloand, save and upload using the Add full text link in Covidence.
