Where to search
Humanities computing is interdisciplinary in nature so you will likely need to search a variety of databases to find articles on your topic of interest. I have listed some that will be good starting points. If you are having trouble the first step is to contact our Service Desk. Help is available via phone, chat, text or in person.
- Academic Search Complete
Also known as: |Academic Search Premier| Academic Search Complete provides indexing and abstracts for a large number of scholarly journals in a variety of disciplines, and full text for a subset of these journals.
- EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS)
EDS provides cross-searching of all subscribed EBSCO content (database, journals, ebooks etc.) as well as many other UofA databases.
- Inspec Archive (1898-1968)Effective January 1/21, current access to Inspec is no longer available.
The Inspec Archive focuses on Physics, Electrical Engineering & Electronics, Computers & Control, and Mechanical & Production Engineering. - Library & Information Science Abstracts (LISA)Indexes and abstracts periodicals in the fields of library and information sciences.
