Dictionaries

Why consult a dictionary?

Dictionaries are an important source of background information, providing: definitions, pronunciation, usage, etymology and more.

Non-English dictionaries are an invaluable source of information for those studying other languages. The library collects dictionaries in many different languages as well as bilingual and multilingual dictionaries.

Search the library catalogue with the language(s) you need and dictionary. Or check out the subject guide for the language you are studying for recommendations.
