There are many places on campus for Entrepreneurship & Innovation besides the library. In this guide, they have been sorted according to their major roles but there will also be overlap. Please hover over the links for a full description.
Incubators and Accelerators
Incubators are dedicated spaces for nurturing startup businesses. Accelerators are programs that give developing companies access to mentorship, investors and other support that help them on their business path.
- NACTRC- Northern Alberta Clinical Trials + Research Centre NACTRC formed in 1999 as a collaboration between Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta. We help investigators who work with these organizations to conduct clinical research, develop new treatments, and bring them to the market for human use. We have developed a growing body of expertise in administering and facilitating clinical trials and research. We and our partners are here to support your research. Together we can bring about better medicine and better outcomes.
- MITACS Mitacs Accelerate is a research internship program that supports development of research partnerships toward skills development and work integrated learning for University students and Postdoctoral Fellows.

Maker Spaces/Fablabs
The POD
Located on the sixth floor of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Research
Facility (ECERF), the Pod is a maker community for students. Students who join
the Pod are given access to lab and prototyping space, mentorship, support,
workshops, and events.
