ERA preserves and makes accessible scholarly material related to research, teaching, and events at the University of Alberta. By providing an open access environment for researchers to archive and share their research, ERA enables compliance with the Tri-Agency Open Access Policy on Publications. Canadian researchers whose home institution does not currently maintain an institutional repository can deposit their research with ERA, which is designated as an adoptive repository by the Canadian Association of Research Libraries. Undergraduate student work must be vetted by a Faculty or Department or through consultation with the Head, Digital Repositories before deposit in ERA.
ERA's primary service model is to mediate deposit on behalf of researchers to save them time. We help researchers determine if their material is appropriate for deposit, provide expert support in evaluating licensing and publisher permissions for deposit and online sharing, carry out deposits on behalf of researchers, and provide Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for the deposits. Please contact erahelp@ualberta.ca for assistance.
All items in ERA must have a file, and cannot exist as a metadata-only record.
