To find books, ebooks and other resources in the library and at the same time search a few databases, use the main search on the library homepage. You may need to search other databases, but this is a good place to start.
This search brings together a collection of different kinds of resources: print books, ebooks, articles, news sources, theses, multimedia resources. Many are available full text either directly or via the Get It button.
Think of your search terms. If you want just a few good things, you can use just one or two terms, but if you want to make your search wider, you can try more terms.
Try, for example:

And combine to include other aspects of your topic such as, medical, medicine, health, etc.

Think about whether the people's words for themselves are different than researchers' might be; for example, Kanien'kehá:ka or Mohawk
Note: Be mindful of colonial or outdated spellings, which still appear in some older resources. Using broad and alternative spellings can uncover valuable materials that may not be indexed under modern or preferred terms

The Indigenous Healing collection is located on the main floor of the Geoffrey and Robyn Sperber Health Sciences Library. It encompasses works about the peoples of the land now known as Canada, as well as those from regions where indigenous cultures were overshadowed by processes like colonization.
