U of A Library Search Guide

The University of Alberta Library provides access to a wide range of databases that are tailored to specific subjects or disciplines. Use a subject-specific database to help narrow and focus your search.

Listing of all Library Databases

Databases often specialize in the literature of a particular field and may include: journal articles, conference proceedings, book chapters, data sets, images, audio, and video.

Selecting Databases

  • Use a Subject Guide to identify useful databases. The guide will also identify your Subject Librarian, who can provide further research support.
  • Search our Database List alphabetically or by name.
  • Browse our Database List by subject or type

Not all databases are the same. Many discipline-specific databases have features that will help you find resources in a way  that works for that specific discipline. For example, many history databases allow you to search by time period, while many chemistry databases enable you to search by molecular structure, and psychology databases allow you to search by methodology.
