Sharing Search Results

Use an item record's permalink to create a stable link that you can easily share or return to later.

  1. Click on the item's title
  2. Select Permalink from under the Cite + Save section
  3. Copy and share this link

The URL on your browser's address bar can also be used for sharing entire search results or individual item records.

Creating Lists

While signed in, you can save records to a permanent list.

  1. Click Sign In at the top right side of your screen
    • UA Students & Staff: Login with your CCID
    • Alumni, NEOS, Community Users: login with your Library Barcode and password
  2. Click on a pin icon next to a search result
  3. Repeat until you have saved all the search results you are interested in
  4. Click on the pin icon at the top right of your screen to view your list of saved results
  5. Then you may select items to email them to yourself, add labels to items, send to citation managers, etc.

If not signed in, you can save items to a list temporarily. Temporary lists automatically delete once you leave Library Search.  

Creating Search Alerts

While signed in, you can save your search queries and set up email alerts for new items that match your criteria.

  1. Click Sign In at the top right side of your screen
    • UA Students & Staff: Login with your CCID
    • Alumni, NEOS, Community Users: login with your Library Barcode and password
  2. Click Save Search, located just above the search results
  3. Click the pin icon at the top right of your screen
  4. Click the Saved Searches tab
  5. Check your saved search
    • Select the RSS icon to set up an RSS feed for that search
    • Select the bell icon to receive email alerts for that search

Citation Tools

Find these tools on the item record, under the Cite + Save section.

  • Citation Generators: Library Search has tools to generate citations in various styles (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.) - always double check these generated citations using citation guides.
  • Citation Management: Export individual records to use in your citation management software.

Exporting Entire Search Results

Entire search results can be exported in BibTeX or RIS formats. To export your search results list:

  1. Click Sign In at the top right side of your screen
  2. Login with your CCID (or Library Barcode & PIN)
  3. Conduct a search
  4. Check the empty box at the top of your search results
  5. Select Export All Results
  6. Select your export format
  7. Select your encoding
  8. Enter the email you want to export the search results to
