Athabasca Oil Sands

Alberta Energy Resources Maps

Through the Alberta Energy web site, the Government of Alberta makes available numerous maps, some under the category "Alberta Energy Interactive Maps"; others under the category "Alberta Energy PDF Maps"

See also the section on Interative Maps within OSIP - Interactive map & data library portal for researchers interested in the environmental impacts of oil sands development. The focus is on the effects of oil sands development on the region’s Air, Water, Land, Climate Change and Biodiversity/Wildlife.

The maps show availability of mineral rights owned by the province for different mineral commodities including sale results and existing agreements.  The maps also identify which locations where minerals are not owned by the province, or are located in protected areas.
