Government Information

Major policy initiatives are announced in the Speech from the Throne. It outlines the Government's legislative plans for the current session and is delivered by the Lieutenant Governor at the opening of a Session of the Legislative Assembly.

The Budget is the Government's statement of its fiscal, economic, and social policies as presented to the Legislative Assembly.

Business Plans outline government and ministerial priorities and estimates document projected spending for the upcoming fiscal year. Both documents are available online with other budget documents starting with 2001/2002.

The Auditor General of Alberta provides regular reports to the Alberta Legislature. These Public Reports are audits of the Government of Alberta, designed to identify opportunities to improve the performance of and confidence in the Alberta Public Service.
