Finding Literature Reviews in APA PsycInfo

Once you have searched for your topic, choose the Additional Limits icon.  Scroll down to the Methodology section and choose Literature Review.

There is also the option to limit to the more specific Systematic Review.  Further information about limiting to systematic reviews in other databases can be found here. 


The APA defines a literature review as a "(s)urvey of previously published literature on a particular topic to define and clarify a particular problem; summarize previous investigations; identify relations, contradictions, gaps, and inconsistencies in the literature; and suggest the next step in solving the problem".

While a systematic review is a "form of literature review that comprehensively identifies, appraises, and synthesizes all relevant research on a specifically formulated question".
