Starter Searches: Good for reconnaissance searches to see what's out there or if you have a known citation.

If you know the title of a book, article, or other item, start with "search the library."


  • Use whole titles or distinctive portions. Use quotation marks to get fewer but more exact matches
  • Select "catalogue only" box on the main library page before you search. Or, from results page, select "university of Alberta library" under the databases facet on the bottom-left side.
